My Story

I remember the day (during my first year at Southampton University), that my friend Philip came to me with an idea to help the hundreds of homeless orphan children suffering in Sierra Leone at the end of the horrific civil war.

He and I sat for hours, considering what he needed to set up the charity (St George Foundation), and how we would be able to provide care and support to the many children in Sierra Leone who were left to fend for themselves on the hard streets of the country.

It wasn't long after those initial conversations that I found myself on a plane to Freetown. Seeing what the children were faced with, and the state of the towns/regions, I realised I couldn't turn my back on this cause - it was then that my fundraising challenges began! So far I have visited the children in Sierra Leone on several occasions, trekked across five mountain peaks, taken on the Sahara Desert and pre-COVID; was training for Everest.

While I consider Everest once again, I am taking on Ride London to get myself back on track and into the frame of mind to keep things moving forward.

Please note: This year is our 20th anniversary, and as someone who has been involved from day 1, I am asking for your support to make this the biggest moment in the charity's history. The charity supports children of all faiths. Please support me in my fundraising challenge. (Don't forget to add the GIFT AID option - as we get a small additional donation from the tax man if you do!).

Thank you for reading, and for your support
